About this Association Emuvwie R'Urhobo Vision and Mission statement

VISION

To be a purposeful and pro-active organization that stands out as a prime reference and source in articulating and projecting the Urhobo voice and position in every phase and facet of project Nigeria’s evolution.  To create a league of true leaders who have been groomed and relentlessly willing to seek ways of transforming their society with particular reference to Urhoboland or ethnic nationality, and Nigeria in general, through understanding, cooperation and scholarship. To work towards elimination of discrimination and marginalization and seek ways to transform, support and defend the Urhobo culture, language and tradition, and strive to promote bond and tradition of the people.  To support and empower unemployed Urhobo youths and challenge them to focus on breakthrough, innovative thinking and technology.

MISSION

To promote and provide a rallying platform to facilitate the sustainable development of profound Pan-Urhobo cohesion through the process of cross-fertilization of ideas, unity, language and transformation of Urhoboland; empower and challenge both patriotic and entrepreneurial spirit of our youths, and create means for the actualization and guarantee of social, political and economic development of Urhoboland and her people.

What we do Emuvwie R'Urhobo Objectives

  • To complement existing efforts by other socio-cultural associations aimed at attracting best possible opportunities for Urhoboland and its peoples, by creating means for the actualization and guarantee of social, political and economic empowerment; equality of opportunities and rights; eliminate marginalization and create means to remove all barriers and tribal discrimination against the Urhobo ethnic nationality in Nigeria.
  • To bring the drive of the Urhobo collective for real success within and outside Nigeria up to speed with contemporary logic, strategies and technology, as well as provide such fora for socio-cultural interactions among members; foster and strengthen the bonds of unity and work towards elimination of barriers and division amongst Urhobo people.
  • To make contributions for the advancement and promotion of charitable or benevolent activities and organizations in Urhobo land and Nigeria in general, and create platform(s) for engagement and empowerment of the teeming youth and people of Urhoboland through investment in agriculture, and support to agricultural multi-purpose societies, establishment of vocational training centres and schools for the benefit of Urhobo people.
  • To enhance the quality of Urhobo presence and representation in all meaningful and viable spheres and affairs of Nigeria; create means to protect, defend and promote the culture, language, traditions and welfare of Urhobo people anywhere in the world; as well as awareness of Urhobo culture through symposiums, seminars, arts and crafts exhibitions and traditional dances.
  • To give fresh voice and renewed verve to the Urhobo relevance in all matters of regional and national importance by liaising and networking with bodies such as Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), various Chamber of Commerce & Industry (where possible), with a view to dialoging with government and all such other bodies for the advancement of the cause of ASSOCIATION.
